Our First Volleyball Game

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

So I’ve joined up with another recreational team, Sets on the Beach. It’s the same folks from Dodgeball, last fall. Our first game was a little rough but definitely fun. I can’t wait to get some practice going and we can totally go all the way with this.

Donna Vitan in the early morning light

I’m starting to use my new camera alot more now. I still haven’t received my SD memory cards but hopefully I will some time soon. For now, I’ve been using my internal memory which is enough to take plenty of pictures. I suppose I will have to learn what my camera can do now, and take advantage of the double stabilizing feature which is supposed to get rid of a lot more blur. I guess, we’ll find out. Cheers.

Hilarious Look At A Designer’s Time Management Strategies

Monday, January 15th, 2007

I am always on the look out for a time management system that will work for me. Getting organized with my own time management has been and continue to be a battle for me. I find myself writing down hours I’ve spent on a project in a notebook, not getting back to it, then starting a new notebook with new hours, until finally I have multiple books spreading like a disease in my home and work. It becomes such a hassle, so much so that the cycle continues and I just pretend that it’s not there, best accomplished by just stuffing them in a drawer.

I came across this Time Management Tips for the Wired Designer by designsojourn.com. It’s a fun read, it made me laugh at the point where he starts talking about time-sink activities which I am very, very guilty of doing.

There are so many solutions out there, some I haven’t quite given a fair chance. Maybe they can work for you too.

Next up, project management. Until then, happy slacking.

Project: Lovely Yet Simple Calendar

There is this incredibly lovely calendar available at Etsy.com by Missellz1980. I love how pretty it is. I want to make something like this but give it my own illustrations, and even add a notes section. So I suppose, it won’t turn out as simple but hopefully, just as pretty.

I’ve created an Amazon.ca Wishlist

Friday, January 12th, 2007

I’ve created a new wishlist at amazon.ca and wanted to be able to share that with you on here but I’m having a hard time making the plugins for this work. So far, I’ve only come across 3 major WordPress plugins for the Amazon wishlists.

I’m still trying to get this to work, and maybe I’ll be installing them twice just to get through it. For now, you can visit my wishlist straight from amazon.ca. Cheers.

WordPress 2: Visual QuickStart Guide*Update* I am so disappointed with these plugins as they don’t work, or perhaps disappointed with myself for not being able to make it work. I did manage to install the WP-Amazon plugin which allows me to easily include Amazon products as I edit my content. It’s been great so far.

In other news, I’m going to the basic WordPress template so I can start my own redesign of the site. So I think, picking myself up a copy of WordPress 2: A Visual Quickstart Guide will definitely be helpful. This is fun stuff folks, fun stuff indeed.
